Beard Update #2

Matt

Using his exquisite science teacher analysis skills Mr Jordan has deduced that there has been considerable beard growth since Kolkata and especially since we boarded this bus eighteen hours ago and thus I have decided to take up the prestigious post of writer of a beard update.

At the front of the race it is a close showdown between Reuben McGregor-Sumpter and Mr Jordan with Reuben with perhaps more coverage but the striking inky black hairs sprouting from Mr Jordan's face make Reuben's ginger hairs pale in comparison. Nikau Reati-Beazley and Mr Crook are close behind the leaders though Nikau's growth is slowing and soon he may fall behind other well-performing students. Mr Crook still fails to show any colour, so much though that one must look twice before actually noticing his nearly translucent facial hair.

Ben Lerner is currently dominating the fifth form category with a great neck beard complete with a nice moustache and sideburns. Richard Boswell seems to be trying to recreate Ben's efforts but in a much neater way. He currently sports a smart chin beard and moustache with ever-growing sideburns, an all round good effort. Ollie Schnauer and Lachie Dickson both deserve special mentions for Ollie's darkening hair above his upper lip while Lachie's sideburns are becoming a sight to behold. Cam Macfarlane's "filthy-mo" is still becoming "filthier" and Miller and Zac are going to be joining Leo's 'foetus category' at this rate if they don't pick up their game.

In the sixth form category it's a rather mixed bunch of efforts. Josh Hamilton and Michael Derevianko are both performing exceptionally though Michael can't decide what colour his beard will be, and Josh seems unenthusiastic to concentrate on anything except his neck beard. George Skinner is showing some lengthy black hairs on his sideburns though they are few and far between and to be honest my goatee growth has slowed to a stop though it is still better then Tom's patchy attempt.

Our most senior students are probably the biggest let down of the group. Despite their age, none of them have stepped up to show their leadership in this race (except Nikau). Aaron's moustache is weak, Rowan's sideburns just aren't up to standard and Will's beard is as patchy as these Indian roads are with good asphalt. I don't mean any offense boys but please step up your game and be role models to us younger students.

So as you can see there has been some change to the standings but its still a very close race and we will be watching eagerly for any upsets in the next several days.
